My Vision on Buliding Costa Rica Paridise Island
In the year 2001, I purchased a plane ticket to Costa Rica . I heard so many wonderful stories about this country that without any planning at all I just took off. My family and friends thought I was crazy to go exploring in a completely different country not knowing anyone or not having a place to stay. Nevertheless, there I was landing in San Jose for the first time in the month of February at 10:45 A.M.. The first thing I did was purchase a map and rent a car. After scanning the map I noticed the peninsula which is where I spotted a few little islands on the Pacific coast. I decided to head straight off the a little town called PaQuera. Here in this little town is where I started my adventure to discover the country.
I am a native from Chile so my Spanish is fluent giving me the opportunity to have good communication with the local people. The local people provided me with valuable information that would help me find my unknown destination. After a few hours of driving, I stopped to eat at a restaurant where I met more friendly people willing to help me in any way possible. Among them, there was a young man who was willing to come with me to show me his country. However, I did not trust this guy, after all I was a resident of New York for thirty years where I learned not to trust strangers.
In the beginning, I used to turn back and look over my shoulder thinking that someone was behind me believing he was greeting someone else but me. Ticos are very uncommon because of how open hearted and trust worthy they are. They are also very proud of their land, and they welcome everybody to come and experience there paradise.
After five years visiting this country, I have found my second family. One thing I admire very much about these Ticos is that they live each day as if it were there last. And the way they show this is that they greet you with the phrase pura vida which means pure life. From my very first day in Costa Rica, I let everyone know that I was interested in buying some property with a beach front, lots of palm trees and coconut trees.
During the three weeks of the trip, I traveled to many beach front sites and made several fishing trips. 2 months after visiting Costa Rica a fisherman by the name Enrique Vasquez who now I call Viejo lobo meaning old wolf, called me and said: I think a found what you are looking for. He took me to this spectacular place and I could not believe what my eyes were seeing: this was not just beautiful, it is a real paradise! I fell in love with this amazing place.
Now that I own a part of Lobster Beach, I want every person to come and see this wonderful place and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. Only twenty minutes away from lobster beach, lies an island shaped like a turtle which is known as "Isla Tortuga" (Turtle Island). Tortuga Island is significant because it was once the place pirates use to crash and party after long journeys over seas. Legend has it, that there is a treasure still hidden under ground somewhere on the Island. This is one of the most stunning island by its surroundings and beauty of nature.
On Lobster Beach, you will find a variety of activities:
- Trips to Tortuga Island
- Fishing trips
- Snorkeling
- Kuru Wild life refuge
- Trips to Malpais surfing
- Trips to Montezuma where there is a beautiful natural water fall
